Robert F. Woodall Elementary School former assistant principal Dinah Maupin has been named as the newest principal of the school, replacing retiring Dena McRee.

Married to husband, Darryl, they have two children, Natalie and Nicklaus, and call Robertson County home.

A 28-year veteran of education, Maupin has spent 25 of them with Robertson County Schools, and 13 of those in the school she will now lead.

After earning a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood and a Masters degree in Elementary Education at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC, Maupin moved to Tennessee and began her teaching career with RCS.  In 2003, she earned a Masters degree in Library and Information Science at Trevecca Nazarene University and followed that up with an endorsement in Educational Leadership and Administration from Bethel University.

Maupin served 11 years in the classroom and 13 years in Related Arts before becoming the assistant principal at Woodall in 2013.

“Four years ago, I felt like I had come back home!  I was there when we opened the doors of Woodall in 1993 and now have former students with children coming through the White House cluster”.

“I am vested in this community and honored for the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of dedicated administrators such as Dena McRee, Kathy Schwab, Stephanie Mason, and Josette Williams.

Maupin is committed to a smooth transition of leadership as she assumes her new responsibilities.  She is looking forward to continuing the work of the Leadership Team and review the 3-year strategic plan for building capacity, the use of technology, and moving student learning.

She is also excited about strengthening the community partnerships for Woodall and continuing the collaboration with Heritage Elementary and Heritage High.
